Tulsa Aikido Club
Teaching Aikido Since 1985
The Tulsa Aikido Club is a dojo (school) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We provide training in the Japanese martial arts of Aikido and Iaido. We offer experienced, safe and dedicated instruction for men and women of all ages. The dojo is a great place to learn about yourself and your relationships with individuals and the world.
What is Aikido?
Aikido is a powerful, effective, and sophisticated martial art that focuses on personal development as well as self-defense. Aikido practitioners learn to move skillfully to neutralize an attack in ways that avoid serious harm to the attacker. Aikido training fosters mental confidence, physical grace and generosity of spirit.
"The purpose of Aikido is not to create aggressive fighters but to refine wisdom and self-control. As a student of Aikido, you must study to improve and polish yourself, not to compete with others."
- Mitsugi Saotome Shihan
Prospective Students
Most people who are considering studying aikido have read or heard something about it, but have never seen it in practice. The best way to decide if aikido is something that you want to try is to observe one of our classes. We encourage prospective students who have never studied aikido to observe at least one of our Tuesday or Thursday evening classes. No appointment is necessary to visit our classes. After observing at least one class, beginners may start aikido training at the first Tuesday or Thursday class of any month.
